Prickly Pedal Mountain Bike Event

When: Saturday, January 19, 2019 - 6:30 am – 11:30 am

Where: Kunasek Trailhead along the Spear S trail at Linda Lane and New River Rd. LOCATION IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Description: Featuring an approximately 40-mile course, the Prickly Pedal is a showcase of Maricopa Trail diversity. Aggressive ascents and descents, grinding it out on the flats, rocks, water, sand, mud, and roller coaster runs are all part of the fun of this challenging course. Beginning in Cave Creek and ending at Lake Pleasant, the course winds through the northern section of the Maricopa Trail. More than 300 riders are expected to participate all of whom will traverse through Anthem and Desert Hills. DMFD CERT's responsibilities will be to provide first aid and assist with accountability for the riders using amateur radio. New this year, we will also be staffing a feed (refreshment) station and if there are enough volunteers we will staff two. This event will require a lot of manpower, so your help is needed.
