CERT CLASSES

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) began promoting nationwide use of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) concepts in 1994.
CERT training promotes a collaborative effort between emergency services and the communities they serve. The goal is for emergency personnel to train members of neighborhoods, community organizations, and workplaces in basic emergency response skills. If a disastrous event overwhelms or delays the professional response, trained community members can step in to help. CERT is designed to teach individuals how to prepare for disasters and take care of themselves, their families, and their neighbors in the event of a catastrophic emergency.
