August is Drowning Impact Awareness Month

Daisy Mountain Firefighters will be holding 6 Drowning Awareness Events. Come visit!

Description: Drowning is a top cause of injury-related death for Arizona children. Take steps to prevent drownings in the high-risk month of August.

  1. During family swim time, assign a constant, capable adult supervisor ("Water Watcher").
  2. Keep your pool fence locked when it's not time to swim.
  3. Make sure children can't go over, under or through the fence.
  4. Teach children to swim at the appropriate age.
  5. Keep your CPR skills up to date.
